Development Project Manager
Overview
Interport Capital is seeking an experienced Development Project Manager to oversee ground-up construction and major renovation projects across our commercial real estate portfolio. This role sits at the intersection of investment strategy and physical execution, ensuring that our capital improvement programs and development initiatives are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Based in our Englewood headquarters, you will manage all phases of the development lifecycle, from pre-construction planning and entitlements through construction administration and final delivery. The ideal candidate brings deep construction management expertise with an understanding of how development decisions impact investment returns.
Responsibilities
- Manage the full lifecycle of development and capital improvement projects across hospitality, self-storage, and mixed-use assets from pre-development through certificate of occupancy.
- Oversee general contractor procurement, bid analysis, contract negotiation, and ongoing construction administration for projects ranging from $5M to $50M+.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, and municipal authorities to secure entitlements, permits, and design approvals aligned with project timelines.
- Develop and maintain detailed project budgets, schedules, and cash flow projections, reporting progress to senior leadership and investment partners.
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure construction quality, code compliance, and adherence to design specifications and ownership standards.
Qualifications
- 7-10 years of experience in commercial real estate development, construction project management, or owner's representation.
- Proven track record managing projects from pre-construction through delivery with budgets exceeding $10M in hospitality, multifamily, or commercial sectors.
- Strong working knowledge of construction contracts (AIA), building codes, zoning regulations, and municipal entitlement processes.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field. PMP or CCM certification preferred.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects across different geographies and asset types.
Compensation & Benefits
$130,000 - $170,000 Base Salary + Performance Bonus
